July 16, 1933 – Sept. 2, 2017
Out of the clutches of Alzheimer’s and into the arms of her mother Francis and her father Thomas “Oh I have slipped the surly bonds of earth and danced the skies on laugher silver wings” (Hilda’s quote). Hilda gained her wings on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 at 8:35 am, she was (and is) the much-loved wife of Maurice and much-loved mom of Janet. She adored her grandchildren Jason and Leeann and her great-grandchildren Kaleb and Kalea. XO. Sister of Alan and Dorothy, and aunt to Matthew. “Life is not forever but love is”. To the multitude of friends throughout the years. “I thank you for the greatest gift of all, the gift of friendship. Memories are a thousand stars lighting the paths we walk everyday”. (Hilda’s quote) Thank you to the residence of Maple Park Lodge for you love and kindness. “Those who touch our lives stay in our heart forever”. Sincere gratitude to Dr. C. Che, thank you for your unwavering support. Cremation has taken place. To honour Hilda’s wishes her ashes will be scattered at the scattering garden at Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, at a future date. “To live in the hearts, we leave behind is not to die” (Thomas Campbell). “May the winds of love blow softly and whisper so you’ll hear that we will always love you and miss you and wish that you were here” (The family)
