Barbara Axford Marsden was a loving mother and grandmother, affectionately referred to as Gooma. Her favourite pastime was spending time with her family. Her love for travel led to her career as a travel agent. She also loved gardening, cooking for her loved ones, card games, dancing and singing.
When she retired, she moved back home to Niagara and enjoyed sitting in the sun with her many granddogs. Recently, she enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Meadows of Dorchester, where she settled into her older age. Her nurses and PSWs were the best around. The family are extremely grateful for the love and care she received.
Barbara is survived by her loving children, Patti-lee (Carl), Michael (Antoinette), and Ruthmary (Marty), and her grandchildren, Christopher (Juliana), Bradley (Kara-lee), Derek, Nicholas, Matthew (Anicka) and Patrick (Paulina)
Gooma loved deeply, laughed cheerfully, and sang loudly until her last days. She will be dearly missed by all of those around her.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, ON on Wednesday April 19th, between 2-4 and 6-8pm. A funeral mass to celebrate the life of Barbara to take place at St. Patricks Church, 4673 Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls on Thursday April 20th at 10:30am, with cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society.
