Obituary for Brenda Muriel Spittle (Redick)

SPITTLE, Brenda Muriel (nee Redick) - December 5, 1926 - August 5, 2022
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at her home. Brenda is predeceased by her parents, Muriel and Eugene Redick and her brother Maynard and his wife, Dolly. Beloved wife of her late husband, Jack (2010) - they were married in 1952. Loving mother of Nancy and husband Rick, and her son Rod and his wife, Ann. Remembered with much love by her six grandchildren, Krystin (Shane), Blaire (Drew), Blake (Kaimee), John, Leslie (Michael) and Steven (Jamie). Grammie was blessed with nine great-grandchildren, Sydney, Cammie, Hutton, Thomas, Callie, Ella, Jack, Aubrey and Bennett. She took much pleasure in watching all of them grow up - they made her smile. Brenda was born in Streetsville and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from McMaster University. She lived most of her adult life looking at the Niagara River from her residence on Sarah Street in Chippawa. Like many of her generation, our mom was kind, gentle, humble and loving. An avid knitter and puzzle enthusiast, Brenda was always working on sets of mittens, a crossword, Sudoku or a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle. She was also an expert at baking her famous Butter Tarts. Her “Bridge Ladies” were some of her best pals. Brenda and her husband Jack, were part of the original shareholder group that developed and owned Willo-Dell Golf Club which opened in 1964. The course continues to thrive - what a fitting legacy to that generation. The family would like to thank some very special people who helped Mom remain in her home. Joe Miszk, Theslyn Douglas, her caretaker, all of her PSW/morning nurses - and longtime, dear neighbours - Ethel and Jim Ashby, Heather and Mark Reid and Jan Kaine. You were all very kind and caring to our Mom. God bless you.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Stamford Lane United
Church, 3855 St. Peter Avenue, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada L2J 2N7.
Funeral Service will be held at the MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, on Friday August 12th at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, Brenda will be laid to rest in Chippawa Holy Trinity Cemetery, beside our Dad.
They are together once again.
