Obituary for Cosette Staats (Simon)
STAATS, Cosette –
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cosette Staats on January 5, 2023 just one day shy of her 85th birthday. Cosette emigrated to Canada from Switzerland in 1954 and settled in Niagara Falls. She married Harry Staats (deceased) and started her family a few years later. She worked for the Niagara Parks Commission for 25 years and eventually settled in Muskoka where she has enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, playing darts doing puzzles and baking for the past 20 years. She was the proud mother of Harry James (Brenda), Cosette Jacqueline (Ron) and Charlotte (Amr). She will be missed by her grandchildren, Jake (Sarah), Harry Christopher (Stacey), Brandon, Kendra and Keisha. She was adored by her four great grandchildren, Kallen, Mason, Benjamin and Hailey.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, on Tuesday, January 10th from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. The 1st hour will be open casket and the last hour closed casket out of respect for the family. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Salvation Army; her favourite charity- donate.salvationarmy.ca. A celebration of life will be held in the spring at her favourite spot in Muskoka.
