Obituary for Daniel Bozanich

BOZANICH, Daniel – Passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital with his loving family at his side on Monday January 16, 2023 at the age of 83. He was the beloved father of Jonathan Bozanich (Jessica), and husband to Mary Louise Bozanich. Caring grandfather “Deda” of Giorgia and “J.R.” Jonathan Rudan Bozanich. Predeceaced by his parents Rade “Ray” and Olga Bozanich & his sister Violet (George) Yerich. Dear uncle of George (Cindy) Yerich, Michael (Milena) Yerich and Kathy (John) Sobot . Great uncle of Violet, Tatiyana, Elizabeth, Michael, Maxim and Theodore. He will be fondly remembered by members of his family the Rapaich’s, Sainovich’s and Gruyich’s. He will be missed by his mother in-law Anna Maria (the late Jack) Paniccia and sister in-law Linda (Alain Dufour) Paniccia & Michaela (Paul) Parisi and Jaden, Kole and Cassandra.
Danny grew up in Chippawa with his family and loved spending time in Port Colborne with his grandparents Dane and Milka Rapaich. When he was older, he helped his parents’ business Ray’s Billiard’s at Main and Ferry Street. After graduating from Stamford Colligate, he moved and enlisted in the US Army and served in the 101st Airborne Division as a paratrooper with the Screaming Eagles. He had wanderlust and gave into it. After seeing the world Danny lived and worked in Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York State.
When his family needed him, he moved back home to Niagara Falls where he began to manage the family hospitality businesses. His love for road trips and adventure made him a magnet for Niagara Falls visitors from all over the world. He loved hearing their stories at the Holiday Inn and sharing many of his own.
Dan was his family’s greatest cheerleader! He was always in the stands or waiting on the sidelines to cheer on “the team” but especially for his son Jonathan. He was right by his side for many years of tennis lessons, practices, and tournaments. He enjoyed the memories with Jonathan where he would accompany him on the road across North America for his Tennis tournaments and other memorable road trips he would take his family on. Later on Danny advised and supported Jonathan in his business endeavours and was always a familiar face to his employees and patrons. Whether it was sports, education or business he was always there to help his son. For the past few years, he spent all his free time and energy with his grandson J.R. who was the apple of his eye. Danny’s main love was his family and always enjoyed celebrating family milestones and events. He loved a good party and would do his best to drive up the energy in his unique way, with stories, jokes and humorous nicknames for everyone he liked! He was greatly considered the glue that held the families together and for that his love will be irreplaceable forever. He will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and sharing his worldly wisdom.
