Obituary for David C. Cherrie

CHERRIE, David Craig – With deep sorrow we announce the passing of David Craig Cherrie after a short illness on Monday April 5, 2021 at the age of 83. He is survived by his beloved wife Jytte, his children Cindy Fleming and Craig (Karen), his grandchildren Amanda Fleming and Alex Fleming (Mandi) and his great-grandchildren, McKenna, Kaylee and Karson who love to swim in Papa’s pool. He will be missed by his brothers Stuart (the late Jan) and Paul (Cathy).
David leaves behind his nieces, Leslee, Catherine Anne and Susan to cherish his memory.
David spent his lifelong career as a Pressman with the Niagara Falls Review for 39 years.
In retirement, his woodworking skills created works of art for family and friends. Tennis was his passion in summer, and the Maple Leafs in winter. Travel was always part of life, wintering in Florida and Clipper Ship Cruising.
We wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Unit D and Trillium Wards at the Greater Niagara General Hospital for their dedicated and gentle care they gave to David in his final days.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, ON.
In memory of David, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by his family.
