MURRAY, Doreen Mae (nee Dymott)– Passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Tuesday April 13, 2021 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of Francis Patrick “Frank” Murray. Dearly loved sister of Barbara J. (John) Friesz, the late Edward Dymott and the late Ronald Dymott. Cherished aunt of Susan Massi, Carol (David) Dec and Jim (Barbara-Anne) Friesz. Loving great-aunt of Alison, Jamieson and Elianna. She leaves behind her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lyle Murray and Joan Gray and her sister-in-law Idamay Banick, many nieces and nephews and their families both in Canada and the United States and her cousin Donna Gibson. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Audrey Dymott and her cousin Douglas Cornell.
Doreen was active in sports during her lifetime, excelling at basketball and volleyball in high school (NFCVI) and 5 pin bowling with local and professional Leagues throughout her adult life. Doreen will be remembered by her extensive family and friends both in Canada and the United States for her kindness and many acts of generosity.
Doreen began her working life at the Burgess Battery company in Niagara Falls and then worked for and retired from the Resolute Forest Products Core Block in St. Catharines.
In retirement Frank and Doreen spent many happy hours on their boat the “Lady Dee” travelling the length and breadth of Lake Ontario. They made many wonderful friends in the boating community.
Under current pandemic conditions, regulations have been set in place that limit the number of visitors allowed in the funeral home at a given time. All visitors must wear a face mask and practice physical distancing (visit thebao.ca or call funeral home for further information). As attendance for visitation is limited, attendees must pre-register.
Visitation will be held at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main St. on Monday April 19, 2021 from 11am to 1pm. A Private Service will be held at the funeral home with interment at Fairview Cemetery to follow. The service will be live-streamed at facebook.com/morseandson on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 1:00 pm. In memory of Doreen, donations to a Charity of Ones Choice would be appreciated by her family.
