Obituary for Dorothy Jean Bennett

Dorothy Jean Bennett
BENNETT, Dorothy Jean - Passed away peacefully at Hospice Niagara in St. Catharines on July 3, 2020 at the age of 91. Predeceased by parents James and Lillie Bennett, sisters Irene (Bert) Musgrove, Violet Bennett and Marjorie Bennett and brother George (Edna) Bennett. She will be sadly missed by her nephew Bruce Bennett, niece Marilyn (nee Musgrove) Steele and their families. Dorothy was born, grew up and worked in Toronto until her retirement from Manufacturers Life Insurance in 1989. She then moved to Fonthill along with her sisters Violet, Marjorie and their good friend Fran. Dorothy was a quiet, soft spoken, kind and generous soul, and along with her sisters and Fran, loved all animals and took a great deal of pride in the home they all enjoyed together. One of Dorothy’s favourite phrases in connection with the hereafter is: “Death leaves a heart-ache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.” As a tribute to Dorothy, play something by Tom Jones or Engelbert Humperdinck – two of her favourite performers.
In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes cremation has taken place. Interment will take place in a private family service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Scarborough. For those who wish, a donation to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street.
