Obituary for Dorothy Helen Staresinic (Beattie)

STARESINIC, Dorothy Helen (BEATTIE)
April 1, 1933 – March 4, 2024
It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Dorothy Staresinic (Nee BEATTIE) announce her peaceful passing on Monday, March 4th, 2024, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, in her 91st year. Loving mother of Joanne Heffernan (the late Pete), Larry Staresinic and Cathie Martin (Ernie). Cherished grandmother of Sarah Jariott (Cameron), Jacob Staresinic and Sean Heffernan. Proud great-grandmother of Iris and Callen Jariott. Special mother to Diane and Shaun Archer, your unwavering love and support will not be forgotten. Thank you for being part of our family and celebrating many milestones and special moments with mom. She loved you both dearly. Beloved aunt of Bob Beattie, Julie and Clyde Kearley and Colleen and Frank Jakob, and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Dear sister-in-law of Dolores Thomson. Mom was loved by all who knew her. Her gentle and caring ways will live on through all of us who hold her dear to our hearts. Thank you for making our lives bright. Teaching us how to be strong, loving and forgiving. You have enriched our lives in so many ways and you will be greatly missed. Until we meet again. Mom always looked forward to family gatherings and enjoyed watching NASCAR and Professional Golf. She enjoyed a variety of musical artists and different genres and was an avid watcher of fast-paced action films, Sci-Fi thrillers, and period piece Classics. In her younger years she was a skilled player of a variety of card games. In her later years she moved to puzzles and mastered beautiful sceneries and seasonal portraits.
Predeceased by her parents William and Helen (Gaunt) Beattie, immigrated from Dumfries and Glasgow, Scotland, and brother Bill Beattie.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St., Niagara Falls, on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., with the service at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow and a private family interment, at a later date.
