Obituary for Douglas Charles Collee

COLLEE, Douglas Charles –
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, at the age of 70.
Loving father to his daughter Anita Longo and her husband Domenic, and proud grandfather of Nicholas, Matthew and Michael. Dear brother of Lorraine Wilcox (Clarence), James Collee (Rita), Paul Collee (Mary-Jane), Peter Collee (Shirley), Leroy Collee (Kathleen), Ronald Collee (Nova) and Sharon Landry. He is predeceased by his wife, Lynn, his parents John and Loretta Collee, his sister Joanne Wilcox, his sisters-in-law Sharon Collee and Irene Collee, his brother-in-law Arthur Landry.
Doug was born and raised in Niagara Falls. He had many jobs over the years, but spent the last 20+ years, until his retirement in 2017, working for Cotton Construction as a machine operator. Doug was a long-time member of the Greater Niagara Boating Club and spent many weekends on or near the water. He enjoyed traveling, especially his many trips to Cuba with family. He took great pride in watching his 3 grandsons play hockey and his face lit up whenever he talked about them. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Douglas will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 3718 Netherby Rd, Stevensville, on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. Rite of Committal to take place in the church cemetery, followed by a reception. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Ontario Lung Health Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
