BLANCHFIELD, Elizabeth “Liz”–
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth “Liz” Blanchfield on Friday, February 10, 2023, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Bob Blanchfield (2009). Devoted mother of Linda Patterson (Gary), Donna Soyka (Robert), and Kelly Blanchfield. Adored grandmother of Melisa LaRoche, Tanya Gallen, Shawn Soyka (Raeann), Patrick Soyka, Anatoli Blanchfield, and Allyson Blanchfield. Great grandmother of Keynan, Soleil, Teven, Ronnie-Rae, Briar Belle, Kaleb, Chloe, Avery and Autumn. Dear sister of Raymond Carr (Barb) and sister-in-law of Sheila Welsh. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her beloved fur babies Chico and Cybil. Predeceased by sisters Georgina Mick, Vivian Carr, Pauline Doering, Weldon Carr and Tom Carr.
Elizabeth was a floral designer, working at Dobbie’s Florist for over 30 years and retired in 2010. During her retirement she loved to volunteer for the Greater Niagara General Hospital, Festival of Lights, Scotiabank Centre and was in the Color Guard for the Niagara Memorial Militaires Marching Band. She enjoyed travel baseball, bowling and playing on a Cribbage Team.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, on Wednesday February 15th, 2023 between 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate the life of Elizabeth will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 11am. Interment to follow at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery.
