Elizabeth “Betty” McRae (nee Dundas)
1956 - 2022
On Saturday, March 5, 2022, Betty peacefully passed away at her home at the age of 65 surrounded by loved ones. Beloved wife of Wayne and loving mother of Michael and Megan. Stepmom to Tammy (Gary) Zalepa, Tricia (Darren) Johnston and Carrie (Dave) McRae. Survived by her siblings Judy (Norm) Stefnitz, Jim Dundas, Dan Dundas, Fran Dundas, Bill Dundas, Peggy (Ron) Chalmers, Patti (Sandy) Watt and Tom (Kathy) Dundas. Predeceased by her parents Mary Kay Tilley and Dan Dundas and siblings Jack Dundas, Mary Kay Dundas and Michael Dundas. In her younger years, you could find Betty on the slowpitch diamond alongside her husband and friends. After a long career with Acres International and Hatch Engineering, and a brief stint at the St. Catharines Courthouse, Betty successfully retired early in 2018 to pursue her love of travelling and perfect her golf swing. Betty was happiest in the sunshine on a beach in Florida or when visiting Vancouver to see her sisters.
Visitation will take place at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls on Thursday, March 10th from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm and Friday, March 11th from 2 – 3 pm followed by a memorial service from 3 - 3:45 pm. There will be a reception from 4 – 6 pm – location to be announced after the memorial service. By mandate from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, face masks must be worn by all those who attend.
