UHLIG, Elizabeth (Rapp) - With broken hearts, the family of Elizabeth Uhlig announce her sudden passing on December 1, 2022 at the age of 94. Predeceased by husband Horst (1997) and beloved little sister Irene (2021). Born in Kety, Hungary on June 26, 1928, deported to Germany in 1947 and finally immigrating to Canada in 1951, where she made Niagara Falls her home for the rest of her life. Elizabeth lived a colourful life surviving war, hardship and many other challenges, but always faced everything in life with a smile and looked at the world through rose-coloured glasses. A truly positive role model for her family. Travel was one of her favourite past times having the pleasure of going on over 70 trips in 20 years. She was truly an inspiration. She will forever be missed by her only child, daughter Leila and her "angel" son-in-law Brian, loving granddaughter Erika (Tyson) and sweet great grandchildren Lily and Fallyn. Also missing her will be niece Caroline and nephew Robert as well as great niece Treya and great nephew Onyx. Since gardening was her passion, flowers will be graciously welcomed.
Elizabeth is resting at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, where her family will receive friends on Friday, December 9th, 2022 from 11-1 o’clock. A celebration of her life will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home. Interment at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
