Obituary for Elizabeth Winnifred "Betty" Waldroff

WALDROFF - Elizabeth (Betty) Winnifred - After a courageous battle of fighting cancer we are sad to announce the passing of Betty on September 16, 2022 with her family at her side at Niagara Health Palliative Care, Fort Erie. Betty is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband Bryan of 58 yrs, daughter Cheryl (Clint) Ferguson and son Paul (Teresa) Waldroff. Nanny to Alex, Eric and Aeryn Ferguson. Sister-in-law to Bill & Bev Hope of Cornwall, Janice Jasmin of Cornwall, Shirley Martel of Timmins and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers-in-law Jack Martel, Dale Waldroff, Philip Jasmin and sister-in-law Marlene Waldroff. Parents Leonard and Winnifred and brother Stanley Cross of Cornwall . Betty’s dream was to be a Registered Nurse (RN) and started her nursing career in Cornwall after graduating in 1962. She started working at Cornwall General and 35 years later retired from Greater Niagara General Hospital (GNGH) after working there for 25 years in the operating room. She loved to spend time with family and friends. She liked to travel, boat, swim, play volleyball, ice skate, cook, bake, bike, play golf and was an avid reader. Past member of Willodell Golf Club for many years. Thank-you to The Walker Cancer Clinic, Dr Vandermeer and her staff as well as the nurses in Emergency and Brock at GNGH and Dr George Harpur. Bradfield Pharmacy for their services and generosity. Niagara Health Palliative Care Fort Erie for their wonderful care during her stay there. Dr. Sher and staff at Douglas Memorial.
Cremation has taken place as per Betty’s wishes. Family will receive friends at the MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls on Friday September 23, 2022, from 2 to 4 pm & 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service at Holy Trinity Church in Chippawa, Saturday September 24 at 2 pm.
