Obituary for Eva "Shirley" Webster (Emmerson)

WEBSTER, Eva “Shirley” (nee Emmerson) - At the age of 92, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Webster; daughter Catherine (Brent) Bain, son David, son Robert (Crystal), four grandchildren, Ryan (Lindsey), Michelle (Jimmy), Gabriel and Alexys, and two great-grandchildren Preston and Elizabeth.
Born December 26, 1928 to Albert and Dora Emmerson, Shirley spent her youth in Kinmount, Ontario, and moved to Rodman Hall (Toronto) with her sister Mary after her high-school graduation in 1944. Shirley worked at Eaton’s during her time in Toronto until she met her husband John in 1954.
John and Shirley were married August 28th, 1955 in Toronto and moved to Scarborough to start a family. Shirley was a devoted mother and wife, and shared her passion for cooking with her children, even inspiring her youngest child (Robert) to become a Chef. She loved to play games with her family and made memories playing Rook, Dominos, and Rummikub.
With a quiet dedication to her faith in God, she could often be found, sitting quietly by herself, spending time with Jesus. Her fervent prayer life and commitment to The Word was evident in all that she did and a testament to a life well lived. There was not an unkind word spoken to or about anyone, truly a blessing to everyone she met.
With poise and grace, she was said to have a regal demeanor while maintaining humility and benevolence with anyone she met. Her kindness and compassion will be remembered fondly by those who knew her.
A private funeral service and burial will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME.
