Obituary for Florence Loraine Costerus
COSTERUS, Florence Loraine 1926 – 2022
It is with deep sadness that the Costerus family announce the passing of Florence “Flo” Costerus, on July 9, 2022, at the age of 96. Beloved wife to Rev. Raymond Costerus (predeceased). Loving mother to Ruth, Polly, and Ted Costerus. Cherished Grammie to Cindy Grace, Bruce, Matthew, Logan, Nick, Isaac and Megan. She will be lovingly remembered by her many great grandchildren. Flo is fondly remembered, with many warm thoughts and stories by all her extended family. Flo was a nurse for many years in Niagara Falls and later in Brantford Ontario. After she retired, she was called by her faith to assist others and traveled extensively attending to the spiritual needs of people worldwide. Trips to Shanghai, Hong Kong, Thailand and Indonesia as well as time spent teaching at the Tympany School in India were sponsored by the Baptist Mission. Florence was a delegate to the Woman’s Mission which took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She traveled to northeast African with Sharing Way to visit refugee camps situated there. Flo made a difference and experienced so much during her life.
The family will receive friends and extended family, at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 am, with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 am. A private family interment of cremated remains to take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to, may make memorial donations to Friendship House and or Alzheimer Society of Canada.
