Obituary for Gordon Robert "Gordy" Oldland

OLDLAND, Gordon Robert (Gordy)
Suddenly on September 23, 2022, at home, in the arms of his loving wife and son, a month after his 75th Birthday, Gord succumbed to his short but vicious battle with cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 39 years, Donna (nee Milojevich) and his devoted son Dane (Amanda). Gord is also survived by his sister Joyce (Rob Monteleone), brother Richard, brother-in-law Rod Milojevich (Terry Cook), nieces Amber Oldland (Moe), Robyn Barnhart, and Carly Monteleone; great nephews Sebastien Oldland, Ben and Sam Barnhart. He is dearly remembered by his aunts Polly Scarfone, June Alsop, Sadie Hayward and Ann Di Battista, as well as many, many wonderful cousins and Kumovi. Gord was grateful for the help and support of his ‘special’ cousins, Evie & Ray Rosenberg, Scott, Nadine, Isla and Grace Fenwick and sister-in-law Terry Cook for their unconditional love and help as he struggled through this last week, as well as our dear friend Bryan Piller. Gord is predeceased by his beloved daughter Danille Anne, parents Gordon and Catherine, mother and father-in-law Daniel and Anne Milojevich, nephew Nicholas Milojevich, and many loving aunts and uncles.
Gord had many achievements in baseball and hockey during his youth and continued to volunteer with both for many years. He enjoyed golfing with friends and family and sadly was still waiting for the Leafs to return to victory. Gord looked forward to meeting with his “Coffee Club” friends and catching up with their goings on. He loved travelling, especially family visits to Florida. He was a gracious host and loved entertaining family and holiday dinners.
Gord enjoyed working on Clifton Hill and then moved on to Edscha when they opened and stayed until their demise. He returned to the hospitality industry joining the team at Radisson Fallsview until very recently.
