Ian passed peacefully surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his beloved and devoted wife Mieke (Maria Aukema), of St. Catharines, Loving Daughter, Sara Crawford (Glenn), and his loved beyond words Grandchildren, Anthony Plume, Elliot Crawford, Zoe Crawford (Hunter), and Catey Lundy of Niagara Falls, Ontario. His Sister Elizabeth (James) Clarke (Crawford) of Dunfermline, Scotland as well as many nieces and one nephew, here in Canada and Scotland will also miss him dearly. Ian had a great love for music with many genres. His favourites were Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, Kenny G and Bob Dylan, just to name a few. He never hesitated to take time to talk to anyone who wanted to learn about whatever music he happened to be listening to at the time and was always happy to recommend a great new playlist.

Ian courageously battled many medical and physical challenges throughout his life: Muscular Dystrophy, Colon Cancer, Bladder Cancer as well as many other health difficulties. Ian never allowed any of these issues to affect how he lived his life or define who he was. His great sense of humour and contagious smile were ever very present, even at the time of his passing.
