DONALDSON, Ian Leathes - Passed peacefully July 14, 2019, at the age of 84, in Niagara Falls. Born February 11th 1935 in Windlesham, England to Doris and Alexander Donaldson, Ian came to North America to pursue an Engineering degree and graduated from Cal Poly in California. He then came to Canada and after working for several years as an engineer, he transitioned to a career in education and was a teacher in the Niagara community for over 25 years. Preceded in death by his wife, Joan (nee Mackenzie), Ian will be lovingly remembered by his children Scott (Elizabeth), Sara (Matthew), and Susana (Monty), and his beloved grandchildren Michaela, Jack, Paige, Simon, Jacob, Chelsea and Grace; along with many other family and friends.The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St., Friday from 10 am to 11 am and a service to celebrate Ian’s life will follow at 11 am. Interment will follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to The Salvation Army Hon. Ray & Helen Lawson Eventide Home.
