Life Story for James Robertson "Jim" Ralston

James Robertson "Jim" Ralston
RALSTON, James Robertson (Jim) –

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jim on August 23 at Hamilton General Hospital, at the age of 70. Beloved husband and best friend of Ruth for 43 years,
Devoted father of David (Marlee) and Jeff (Janice) and an adored Grandpa. Survived by sister Alyson (Gary) and sister - in -law Diana. Predeceased by his parents and brother Danny. Fondly remembered by nephew Daniel, niece Katharine and many friends. Jim came to Canada at the age of 21, eventually making his way to Niagara Falls in 1975 to work at Provincial Crane. Jim lived a very active life scuba diving, golfing and running. Jim was dedicated to his community, volunteering countless hours to organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, Heart Niagara, Winter Festival of Lights and the Terry Fox Run. Jim’s true passion in life was running. He was an active member of Track Niagara and participated in many events from 5k’s to marathons, culminating in a second career as race director of the Niagara Falls International Marathon. Jim developed many friendships locally and internationally through his dedication to the marathon. Ruth and the family will greatly miss listening to Jim playing music, particularly his guitar. The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St., on Wednesday August 28 from 2-4 and 7-9. A service to celebrate Jim’s life, will be held at 11 am on Thursday August 29. Cremation has taken place. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Terry Fox Foundation or Fort Erie SPCA. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com.
