Obituary for Linda Michelina Colling (Carbone)

COLLING, Linda Michelina (Carbone) – Passed away peacefully at the age of 72 after a courageous battle with leukemia on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Beloved wife and best friend of Paul for 37 years; Loving mother of Rita and her children, Christina and Matthew; step-mother of Mark (Maria) and their children, Bianca and Sophia; Dear sister of Albert (Cathy) Carbone, Fred Carbone, John (Karen) Carbone, and sister-in-law Michele (Robert) Dunton. Also survived by several nieces and nephews (Maximo, Luca, Liam and Emma). Predeceased by her parents Rita and Pasquale Carbone, her late father-in-law Victor Colling and is survived by her mother-in-law Patricia Colling. Born in Timmins, and raised in Niagara Falls, Linda was employed as an administrative assistant, first with Ohio Brass, then later with Provincial Crane, Canada Employment and Immigration Commission, lastly Canada Revenue Agency, before retiring after 30 years of Federal Government Service, and then continued to work part time for the boutique at Embassy Suites. She was a past board member, and an active supporter and volunteer with the Niagara Falls Conservative Party on the Federal level.
Linda is resting at the MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, where her family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ann Church, Niagara Falls, on Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock. Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Mausoleum. In respect of Paul’s immune deficiency, Linda’s family would ask everyone to wear face masks indoors at the funeral home, church and mausoleum. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Juravinski Cancer Centre Foundation, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada or to Diabetes Canada.
