Obituary for Louis Joseph Frenette

FRENETTE, Louis Joseph (Pinex) –
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louis, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Beloved husband of Gloria (Foster) for 60 years. Devoted father of Gwen Lorenc (Jon), Monique Frenette (ric Brown) and Sarah Marinelli (Michael). Adored grandfather of Kevin (Amy), Laura, Samantha (Kris), Sara (Jonathon), Aidan, Aria and Gioia. Great grandfather of Kayden Jo, Cannon, Gatlin, Gage, Marcus, Carrick, Riley, Dexter and Vincent. Dear brother of Louise Watling (Peter), Valerie Frenette (late Kevin), Monique Taylor (Brent), Gabe Frenette and the late Eloi Frenette (late Lynn). Uncle Lou will be fondly remembered by all of his nieces and nephews. Louis will also be greatly missed by his colleagues and friends.
As a young man Louis joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1958 as an RCR and was stationed in various places, settling in Niagara Falls. He is a life time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 479 and held many offices over the course of 50 years. He was a constant at the Fish Fry, Remembrance Day Ceremonies, Fund Raising, Poppy Campaign, and overall property maintenance. For the past 15 years he was the Veterans Resource Officer and assisted countless veterans with benefits, housing and support. Louis was a transport truck driver for Trimac, after retiring he was a trainer and an emergency responder.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and on Monday from 2- 4 & 6-8 p.m. A service under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 479 will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 3:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Scapular Church, 6557 Thorold Stone Rd., Niagara Falls, on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.
