Obituary for M. Douglas "Doug" Frazer

FRAZER, M. Douglas “Doug” –
With broken hearts we announce the passing of the most generous, gentle, kind man, Doug Frazer on Monday December 11, 2023, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, at the age of 86. Loving wife, partner and best friend of over 33 years, Lynda Frazer (Bielich Vukovich) and adoring daughter Nancy Frazer (Airdrie) were by his side holding his hands right up to the last peaceful moment. Survived by his daughters; Nancy (the late Irvin), the late Christine Audit his very talented Toronto artist and Patricia Frazer. Lynda’s children Jovan Bielich (Korina), Simo Bielich (Valerie) and Tanya Bielich. Grandchildren Fraser (Rebecca) Kieran, Nico (Bob), Jesse, Wyatt, Natalie (Brandon), Samantha (Greg), Michael, Jaxon, Jovo, Katrienna, Luka and Niko. Great grandchildren Bobby, Clark and Princess Paisley. Doug was adopted by two wonderful people Gladys and John Frazer of Niagara Falls as an infant. Later received an adopted brother Honourable Paul Frazer (Dr. Tina Alster), and their son Nicholas and an adopted sister Penny. Brother-in-law the late John Vukovich (Sylvia) and their children Melissa (Greg), Michael (Kim) David (Carly), Sister-in-law Diane Manojlovich (John) and their children Stephen, Dr. Larissa and Andrew (Stephanie). Fondly remembered by many cousins, especially Judith Scott and Gary Fraser and friends, especially Gary Clemmensem (Debbra). Predeceased by his lifetime friend Bud Beach.
Doug, earned a football scholarship and received an Associate in Applied Science Degree from the University of Buffalo, played for Stamford Secondary School Senior Basketball that won the all Ontario Championship, played for the Buffalo Bills AFL, Inducted into the Niagara Falls Sports Hall of Fame 2012, Advertising Manager of CHML Radio, Securities Salesman Registered to the Toronto and New York Exchanges, Founder and CEO of Kwik Mix Materials Ltd., introduced a fast setting polymer concrete patch called Quickset, Board member of the Niagara Economic and Tourism Corporation, Chairman of Port Colborne’s Habitat for Humanity Home Build, Citizen of the Year Awards for Stoney Creek and Port Colborne, two time President of the International Packaged Concrete Association, Canadian Director of the World Trade Center Buffalo-Niagara, Chairman of the Eight Million Dollar Niagara Community Growth Fund, shared presentation with Niagara Park Commission of the War of 1812 – Battle of Lundy’s Lane, he chaired a local group responding to an RFP for the Gateway Project, chairman of Niagara’s Pathstone Mental Health Foundation, 12 year board member of the seven hospital Niagara Health System, World Class attraction award for Ride Niagara tourist attraction, President of Frazer Holdings and Investment Company, Founding Director of the Niagara Angel Network, Lifetime Achievement Award from the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards and received the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for outstanding community contribution. A heartfelt thanks to the compassionate, caring, patient staff and nurses of the GNGH and especially Korina Bielich for showing her love and tender care for Doug.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME,5917 Main St., Niagara Falls, on Friday December 15, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, December 16 from 10-11 a.m, with a service to celebrate the life of Doug at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the NHF – South Niagara Site.
