Obituary for Margaret Louise Lewis
LEWIS, Margaret Louise RN – Passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband by her side on Monday June 14, 2021 at the age of 76. Beloved wife of Bill for 35 years. Loving sister of Barbara Newman, Bill Newman and Bob (Leslie) Newman. Dear sister in-law of Bob (Judi) Lewis. Caring Aunt of Hannah Newman, Elizabeth Newman, Michael (Rebecca) Lewis, Jennifer Lewis and Brian (Jennifer) Lewis. Great aunt of Theo Lewis. Fondly remembered by her friends Bryant and Claudette Holinaty, Cher Moon and Greg Royal. Predeceased by her parents Stephen and Elizabeth Newman.
Margaret was raised in Chippawa and earned her RN degree at Victoria Hospital in London, ON. After graduation she spent over 50 years in the nursing field at various locations. In Margaret’s spare time she enjoyed going to her and Bill’s cottage on Beaver Lake, playing tennis, skiing and racing sailboats with Bill. She enjoyed entertaining and having people over to share her love of cooking in her small but mighty kitchen.
Margaret’s family would like to thank all the Doctors and nurses that helped to take care of her for the past few years, especially Dr. Sophie Corrievau, Dr. Courtney Manser, Dr. Dan Dargavel, Iran Sajjadi RN and Tanya Bolus RN.
As per Margaret’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to current pandemic restrictions, a private graveside service will take place at Fairview Cemetery with a public celebration of her life at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada or the Ajmera Transplant Centre at UHN’s Toronto General Hospital.
