Obituary for Mary Ann Allison (Miller)
ALLISON, Mary Ann Palmer (UE) (Ann)
Passed away peacefully in her residence, on March 30th, 2023, at the age of 92. Predeceased by her beloved husband John Stuart Allison, brother James Miller, son Michael Allison and grandson Devin Allison.
Loving mother of Peter Allison (Somchit), James Allison (Eric) and Kathleen Allison. Loving grandmother of Nadia, Tassanee, Sinthai, Cody, Lindsay, Talyssa, Maci, and great-grandmother of Arabella and Kendal. She will be fondly remembered by many friends, co-workers and other relatives.
Born in 1930 in Niagara Falls NY to Sam and Emily Miller, she grew up on a farm on Lundy’s Lane. After attending Stamford Collegiate she graduated from the School of Nursing (U of T) in 1953. Married to Stuart the same year they started their family in Winnipeg MB before moving back to Niagara in 1965. She loved her job as a public health nurse with the Niagara Region until her retirement. She continued to be active in the community with volunteer work for many more years, notably at the Niagara Detention Centre for over 30 years. She will be missed.
As per Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main St., Niagara Falls, ON, between 2 and 4pm on Thursday April 6, with a memorial service to follow at 4pm. Flowers are welcome as an expression of sympathy, or those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara Falls or a charity of your choice on her behalf.
