Mindy Janice Lake
May 9, 1957 – March 17, 2023
Mindy’s family is heartbroken to share that she floated away with the angels to the sweet sounds of Patsy Cline’s “Walking after Midnight” on Friday, March 17, 2023 at St. Catharines Hospital following an accident at home. She was the loving sister of Mark (Sheree) and proud Aunt to Kimberley Lake (Bryan Mombourquette), and Kristen Gross (the late Gerhard Gross). She took great joy in her grandnieces Ella and Clara Mombourquette, and grandnephew Gerhard Gross. She was predeceased by her devoted parents Marian (2009) and James (2019). Mindy dutifully served with the Canadian Armed Forces retiring from the 437 (T) SQN HUSKIES Trenton. She loved her work in military service, and subsequent career as a West Jetter. She lived all over the country and was peacefully retired in St. Catharines at the end of her life. She will be remembered for her unique sense of humour, generosity, her love and dedication to family and friends, and her strong morals and values. She loved country music, flair, adventure, and the unconventional. Her love of animals, big and small, meant that no animal would go hungry at her doorstep. Arrangements have been entrusted to MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, ON. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 2:00pm at St. John’s Anglican Church, 516 Mill St., Port Elgin ON. Memorial donations can be made to the Lincoln County Humane Society – www.lchs.ca
