BARTKOWIAK, Monika It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Monika Bartkowiak on May 12, 2019 at Niagara General Hospital at the age of 85. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. Loving mother of Mark Nawrot (Donna), George Nawrot (Helen). Predeceased by husband Teodor Bartkowiak. Loving grandmother of Christopher Nawrot and Ryan Balmer, loving sister of Emilia Hofmann. Fondly remembered by family and friends. People will remember Monika as a hard and dedicated worker that loved her family. Having emigrated from Poland with her immediate family in 1961, she made Niagara Falls the home she loved and spoke of proudly. She was a strong supporter of the Polish community and will probably be part of it in her heavenly home if given a choice. Sunday dinners were always perogys right to the end . . . she was a great cook. Monika spent her last days at Emerald Retirement Residence where she was starting to enjoy a new stage of her life. Our family passes on a heartfelt thank you to the many staff that made her feel so welcome. A funeral service for Monika is being held at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main St. on Saturday May 18, 11 a:m and friends and family are encouraged to join us.
