BAUER, Monika Maria (Bacigal)
Passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Hospice Niagara, St. Catharines. Beloved wife of the late Stanislav “Stan” Bauer. Devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Monika will be missed by her daughter Andrea, and sons Robert, Patrick, and Mark (Liza). As well as grandchildren Luke, Alana (Dylan), Cameron (Sabrina), Kyle (Sidney), Megan, Mackenzie, and great grandchildren Luna, Aria, Joseph, Jack and Sophia. Fondly remembered by sisters Terka, Helenka, Maria, Lia, Cilka, and Betka, brother Juraj, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Predeceased by brothers Josef, Fero, and Paulo. Monika came to Canada from Slovakia in 1969. She was a lifelong educator, choir member, avid gardener, loved to cook, enjoyed spending time and having coffee with family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for the life of Monika at St. Patrick Church, 4673 Victoria Ave., Niagara Falls on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
