GILLARD, Norman “John” – Sadly we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and friend who was overtaken by a devastating illness that ravaged his body, but never dampened his gentle, giant spirit. Beloved husband of Lorraine Gillard. Caring father of Nairn (Alicia) and Carrey (Mitch). Stepfather of Cheryl (Dave), Billy, David (Layla) and Jamie. Lovingly missed by his 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was born and raised in Niagara Falls and proudly worked as a Millwright at Norton, Washington Mills and in the foundry at General Motors. John was a hardworking, kind-hearted, honest and genuine person who had a passion for the Detroit Red Wings and motorcycles. The family would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses and support staff of the Niagara Health System for their hard work and dedication to his care. It was greatly appreciated.Cremation has taken place. A celebration of John’s Life will take place at a later date.
