Obituary for Peggy Agnes Dickson

DICKSON, Peggy Agnes November 26, 1930 - November 28, 2022

Peacefully passed away at home, holding her daughter’s hand, on Monday November 28, 2022. She celebrated her 92nd birthday, on November 26th surrounded by family and friends. Dear mother of Dave and Holly Dickson, Gail and Ben Data and daughter-in-law Lorrie Dickson.

Caring grandma to Bonnie Dickson (Chris Knutt), Amanda Dickson, Christopher Dickson, Taylor Data, Griffin and Natalie Data, Larson and Ellie Data. Mom Adored her great grandchildren Jonathan Bokma, Terrance Bokma, Haidyn McBurney and Carter McBurney. She was waiting with much anticipation Larson and Ellie’s son to arrive.

Dear sister of Charlotte and George Bechkos and Caroline and David Sodtke.

Mom was blessed to have a daughter from another mother, that she loved as her own, Cathy Linwood. She loved being your Aunt Peg. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and grands, that she asked about all the time. Everyone loved Auntie Peggy.

She is predeceased by her parents, Alex and Violet Lutz, step-mother Isabel, siblings Jack Lutz, Betty Lutz and Bill Lutz. A great sadness of life happened when Peggy’s son Robert passed in 1995 and her granddaughter Christine in 1981.

Mom was born in Niagara-on-the-Lake, raised on the family farm on Line 5. Her mother passed when she was three years old, her grandma moved in to raise her and her siblings. She had many stories that she told and they all involved what Grandma did.

Mom’s passion was her knitting (her words). She gave to many causes, most involving children being happy. She knitted slippers and mittens. Dolls for Guatemala, and also comfort bears with sweaters for the police to give to children involved in accidents.

Many thanks to the girls at Paramed for assisting her on the daily. Mom loved your visits. Kathie, Janice, Laura and Dianne. You put happy in her day.

Arrangements have been entrusted to MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls. As per Peggy’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will have an inurnment in the spring.

There is a joy that can
Only be felt when you
Spend time with people
That you love.

Laughing, sharing stories
And passing knowledge
From one generation to
The next.
That’s family
That’s friendship
That’s the best stuff in life.
