Obituary for Rosaire Larochelle

LAROCHELLE, Rosaire – Gone to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 94. Always a loving father and grandfather to his eight children and their families: (1) Rosanne (Ted) Novakowski, of Tillsonburg and their children Alisha (Kris) Layman (kids Ethan, Ashton); Amanda (Devin) Moffatt (kids Liam, Camden); Shawn Novakowski (Jamie). (2) Christine Larochelle (Jean-Noel Guilmette), of Niagara Falls and her children Yvette (Nick) Mansion (kids Melina, Alexa, Niyah); Tabatha Couse (Dwayne) (kids Noah, Rayna, Madyn, Samuel); late Eric; Elijah Lester (Andrea); Monique Lester (John). (3) Lina Mitchell (Larry Turner), and her son Jason Larochelle (kids Vanessa, Dylan). (4) Gaetane (Guy) Mercier, of Tillsonburg and their children Renée Mercier (kids Daviana, Daxton); Isabelle (Linkon) Price. (5) Donald (Laura) Larochelle, of Walsingham and their children Craig Larochelle (Tiffany); April Larochelle (Nathan); Marcie Larochelle. (6) Léon (Sandra) Larochelle, of Keswick and their children Danielle Larochelle (Eric) (kids Isabelle, Simone); Joshua Larochelle. (7) Sylvio (Rose) Larochelle, of Delhi and their children Louis (Alisha) Larochelle (daughter Isla); Rebecca Larochelle (Tyler) (son Axell). (8) Sylvain (Annette) Larochelle, of Otterville and their children Taneesha Larochelle; Clayton Larochelle. Rosaire is survived by his brother Paul Larochelle and sisters Ce’cile Gagnon and Therese Gagnon. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two much-loved sons Donald Larochelle and Léon Larochelle and by seven brothers and one sister. Rosaire will be greatly missed by his lifelong companion Yolland Desjardin. For many years, Rosaire was involved in logging, trucking, and tobacco farming. Throughout his life, he enjoyed hours of gardening, cultivating both vegetables and flowers. In the last 14 years of his retirement life, he was known at the Residence la Joie de Vivre as the “King of the Garden” and “King of Pool”, and for his gentlemanly ways. He was a faithful Catholic, attending St Antoine de Padoue’s Parish in Niagara Falls. In keeping with Rosaire’s wishes, the family will receive friends for visitation at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, on Wednesday November 16, 2022 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. A funeral mass to celebrate the life of Rosaire will follow at St. Antoine de Padoue, 4570 Portage Rd, Niagara Falls, on Wednesday November 16, 2022 at 2 pm. There will be a luncheon to follow immediately, at Delphi Banquet Facilities, 4414 Portage Rd, Niagara Falls. Cremation will follow.
