Condolence From: the Community Planning Department at the City of Burlington
Condolence: Everyone in the City of Burlington Community Planning Department was so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with and learn from Suzanne. She worked in both policy and development planning demonstrating her flexibility and skill in land use planning. She was a role model to us all and generous with her time, energy and always willing to share the things she had learned over the course of her life and career. Thinking back to discussions with her about her family, her love of animals and her amazing and committed volunteerism throughout her life just reinforced what a special person we have all lost. Our most sincere condolences.

Condolence: To Suzanne's Family, I was saddened and shocked to hear the sad news that Suzanne passed away. I worked with Suzanne at the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, and had a great work relationship with her along with a personal friendship. We used to share books to read, several weekly conversations about the love of our dogs, and shared stories about our Volunteering experiences. I still use and carry the lunch bag daily she so generously gave me for Administrative Assistant's Day. Hanging on the walls in the NPCA building, there is a great photo of Suzanne sitting on a large rock taking a break on a one of the NPCA trails with her yellow lab at her side. I stop and smile when I look at that photo remembering I had the pleasure to know such a wonderful, soft spoken, gentle woman that was my friend. My deepest Sympathy, Irene Bradnam

Condolence: My heart is so heavy this morning hearing of Suzanne's passing. I had the pleasure of meeting her in March of 2016 when I became her caseworker for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Suzanne had a heart of gold, and was a truly inspiring role model for her little sister. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Suzanne is better just because of knowing her. I'll always treasure the stories of her and her little sister, and the laughs when she admitted she could sign along to a full Taylor Swift album thanks to her little sister. Thank you for always being you, Suzanne. I'm so very grateful for having met you, and having shared the last 4 years of your match.

Condolence: We were just starting to get to know Suzanne at Stinson. We would often see her enjoying her patio and walking Coal. She was always a breath of fresh air with a warm smile and a friendly hello. It only took a few minutes talking to her to know that she was a special person. She'll be missed. Condolence: I had the privilege to work alongside Suzanne for about 4 years at the conservation authority in Niagara. Although she was incredibly knowledgeable and proficient in all she did, it is her sincerity, kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness and beautiful spirit that I will miss. As we went our separate ways following working together we remained friends and I always enjoyed re-connecting. My memories of our time spent together will be treasured!

Condolence: Suzanne was one of the kindest, gentlest people I’ve known. We first met at the Region of Halton too many years ago to count, and we stayed in touch through job changes and moves over the years. When Suzanne took a position at the City of Burlington we began to see more of each other, catching up over lunches, dinners, movies and recently, social distance picnics. It’s still so hard for me to believe that she’s gone. I will miss her kindness and sense of humour.

Condolence: I was saddened to learn of Suzanne's passing at such an early age. I remember her well from my upper-year urban geography classes at Brock University. She was a dedicated student, always performing well in class and developing a very critical approach to learning which stood her well in her future career. Naturally, I was thrilled that she chose a career in planning, and over the last 30 years there were occasions when we were able to discuss various local issues. She was a kind and considerate person and liked by her peers. She will be missed. Sincerely, Dr. Hugh Gayler, Professor Emeritus, Brock University

Condolence: I am sadden to hear of Suzanne’s passing. I met Suzanne through my work. She was a friendly, kind, caring and wonderful lady. We loved to talk about our gardens, she got me hooked on growing green beans in my flower garden, told me they didn’t take much space and vines just added to the beauty of the garden. I have grown them every year and next spring when I plant my seeds I will think of Suzanne and smile, that I was fortunate enough to have know her. My condolences to the family.

Condolence: I am so sad to hear of Suzanne's passing. She was a lovely person and a fantastic colleague while we both worked in Burlington. When Suzanne and I first started working together, we realized we both had knitting as a hobby and often would bring in our projects to show the each other. She was truly a warm, caring, and all around fantastic person and will be missed. My condolences to all of her family in this very hard time.
