It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Irva on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Meadows of Dorchester, in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Johnston (1985). Loving mother of Dianne Chopp (Joseph). Stepmother of William Johnston (Caroline). Cherished grandmother of Tania Lutz, Tom Chopp (Carrie) and Joanna Milinkovich (Peter), Sandra Moir, William Johnston Jr and the late Alan Johnston. Great grandmother of Natasha Cottingham (Ty), Eric Lutz, Julia, Brianna and Ryan Chopp and Colin and Katie Milinkovich. Dear sister of Jack Ross (Teresa), Gloria Slacer (late Arthur) and the late Robert Ross (late Jean).Irva was a registered nurse who retired from the American Can Co. after 31 years of service. A service to celebrate Irva’s life will be held at Chippawa Presbyterian Church, 8280 Willoughby Dr. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial to take place in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Chippawa Presbyterian Church.
