Condolences

Condolence From: Brian Packham
Condolence: Hi Mary Helen;

Here's a great big hug for you and the rest of the family.

So sorry to hear about Harold "Going Home". He will certainly be missed by all of us in Scouting. He was a great Scouter because he always was there for the youth.

I will always remember playing balloon volleyball sitting across from Harold on the opposing team at one of the Niagara Regional Rover Roundtable Car Rally events when I was a Venturer. (I think that was the first time I met Harold).

I'm sorry that I couldn't have been there to visit or be at the funeral service, but my job is so unpredictable when it comes to scheduling. Please know that I was there in spirit and in prayers.

Please accept my condolences to you and the rest of the family. You'll always be in our hearts.

Lots o' love and hugs.

Brian

Condolence: Harold was a cherished member of the 1st Niagara Rover Crew. He is an indispensable part of the memories I hold from my time as part of the Rover Crew, and I sincerely regret being unable to be there for the funeral and pay my respects. I hope the knowledge that Harold made so many memories possible for so many people helps ease the pain for his family and friends.

Condolence: Dear Helen, Linda and Tom: I was very saddened to hear about Harold's passing in the Review On-Line. Our family lived next door to you on Garner Rd. and I have so many happy memories of Harold - and all of you. He was a wonderful person and may he rest in peace.

Condolence: To the Detlor Family.

I was very saddened to read of Harold's passing; I am currently vacationing in Florida and am truly sorry that I will not be able to offer my condolences in person. I have played many rounds of golf with Harold and more recently many games at the Niagara Falls Curling Club. He was a very special person and I will miss him dearly.
My sincerest condolences to the Detlor family at this very difficult time of sorrow.

Sincerely,
Tony Jamestee

Condolence: I have known Harold for over 30 years through Rover Scouts. He was an Advisor for the 1st Niagara Rover Scouts and I was a member of 7th Downsview Rover Scouts. Harold pushed a head the Canadian Rover Moot, that was held in St. Catherines in 1982, after the Death of Rolly Dell. I was present at the Hallowe'en Moot in 1995 when Harold was presented with the Medal of Silver Acorn. I read in his obituary that he was awarded a bar to the Silver Acorn. Some things that we did not talk about was the United Empire Loyalists and the B-P Guild. I am a member of the Governor Simcoe Branch of the United Empire Loyalists' of Canada and the current Secretary of the 6th Canadian B-P Guild, all in the mean time Rover Scout Advisor to the 1st Ballentrae Rover Scout Crew.

Harold was a great leader and a person and when I did go to Rover Moots, it was a delight to have a talk with him. Like other Rover Advisors that have passed away, Harold, you will be missed.

Yours in Rovering Friendship,
Robert Heath.
