JAKOB, Elfriede (nee Hein) - With sadness the family announces Elfriede’s passing at Meadows of Dorchester on Thursday, December 29th in her 83rd year. Elfriede was born of German heritage in Wizajny, Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1951. For the past 8 years she has resided at Meadows of Dorchester in Niagara Falls. Predeceased by her beloved husband Franz “Frank” Jakob. Their marriage of 61 years was blessed with 3 children. Loving mother of Rosemarie Reiss (Peter), Frank Jakob (Colleen), Karl Jakob (Cecile). Cherished grandmother of 6 grandchildren Erika Lacroix (Nate), Paul Reiss (Yoko), Jason Jakob (Justine), Jeremy Jakob (Sarah), Danielle Jakob, Ryan Jakob (Erica). Her other rays of sunshine were her 3 great-grandchildren Tyler and Hayden Lacroix and Sophie Reiss. Dear sister to Ernst Hein (Janice). Survived by sisters-in-law Ida Hein and Barbara Hein. Predeceased by her parents Andreas and Helene Hein. Also predeceased by her brothers Oswald and Helmet Hein. Elfriede’s gift to all was her caring and giving ways and will be dearly missed by all.
Friends will be received at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St., Niagara Falls on Monday January 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church located at 7081 McLeod Rd, Niagara Falls on Tuesday January 3rd at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery, Niagara Falls. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Elfriede's memory may be made to Our Saviour Lutheran Church or charity of your choice. A special thank you to all staff of Meadows of Dorchester for all their care and support.
