OBERLEIN, Ewald (Ed)
Peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2017, with family at his side at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Helen for 59 years and has now been reunited with the love of his life. Loving father of Peter (Paris Cosby), Patricia (John Ross) and Gregory (Laura).
Cherished grandfather of Alex, Victoria, Quinn, Tim, Emily and Ryan. Great grandfather of Addler and Bricklyn. Predeceased by sisters Alice Oberlein, Judith Bird and Edith Fish.
Ed overcame great odds in his life and should be remembered for being a great father as well as being an important and respected member of the community. He was most proud of his more than fifty years of membership in the Stamford Centre Volunteer Fireman's Association, a well known community based service club.
A graveside service will take place at Stamford Presbyterian Church Cemetery, St. Paul Ave. on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 1 p.m. Reception to follow at Stamford Centre Volunteer Fireman’s Association, 2275 Dorchester Rd. (Fireman’s Park). As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Juravinski Cancer Centre.
