Life Story for Donald Walter Martin

Donald Walter Martin
MARTIN, Donald Walter – Passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at the age of 67. Beloved husband of Rae for 46 years. Loving father of Don Martin Jr. (Sandra) of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Patrick Martin (Carrie) of Niagara Falls. Cherished and most proud Papa of Myah of Niagara Falls and Audra and Deklen of Winnipeg. Dear brother-in-law of Jim Flynn (Christine) of Oakville. Predeceased by his father Douglas Martin (1961) and beloved in-laws Bill (1996) and Marjorie Flynn (2006) of Toronto. Don was born in Montreal, moving to Toronto in 1963. He worked as a Rigger, Dive Tender and Crane Operator for Ontario Hydro/OPG from 1977 until his retirement in 2007. Don was a compassionate and hardworking man who worked tirelessly to take care of his family. Don was the family handyman going wherever he was needed. If something was broken and Don could not fix it, then you might as well throw it away because it could not be fixed. He will be remembered as a true family man, always putting his family first. Thank you to the staff on Trillium and Brock Units at GNGH for their care and compassion for Don.
As per Don’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be a private family memorial service for Don at a later date. If so desired, donations to One Foundation (GNGH Trillium) would be appreciated. Arrangements in care of MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street.
