Condolences

Condolence From: Matt
Condolence: To Donald I was always known as #40, as I was his 40th closest familial relative. However, he would treat anyone who expressed interest or need as though they #1. His generosity, intellectual verve and convictions left a lasting impression on all he encountered; you knew you were the presence someone truly great.

Condolence: So very sorry to hear of Mr Justice^ passing. He was a very kind man who taught both my sister Carla and myself music for many years. He was also a good friend of my parents and can remember having many lunches with him and his mom. Mr Justice was a great music director and lived for his music. I’m sure he is already organizing the best choir in heaven. Rest In Peace Me Justice.

Condolence: So very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Justice. He was a great man who was so very very passionate about his music. He took my family and myself under his wing when we moved here from Holland. He came to Elm Street School taught us music and soon. My sister and I became students of his in both singing and piano. Had many lunches with him and his mom. Sang in many music festivals and many churches. Great memories. So glad I had a visit with him. I am sure he will be a top director in heaven and I am sure we will hear a bit of rumbling. He was small but mighty. Rest In Peace Mr. Justice. You were a very good kind an talented man

Condolence: Dear Donald
I lost track of you years ago and thought you had already passed away. When you were a teenager you loved my mother. She married someone else and I think it broke your heart. I know you always loved her because you came into my sister's and my life when we were adults. You helped my sister through nursing school. She was a great nurse for over 40 years. You can look her up in heaven since she passed away last April. You helped me by giving me piano lessons. I was out of the country when you passed away or I would have come and paid my respects.I hope you are at peace now and are making beautiful music in heaven. Linda

Condolence: Dear Donald:
You have touched the lives of so many with your teaching, with your music, with your philosophy of life, and with your unceasing generosity. You have heard the expression that someone would give you the shirt off their back…well…that describes Donald Justice to a T. Fiercely opinionated, relentless, uncompromising in his attitudes toward many aspects of life, Don made an effort to see the best in everyone, but could be quick to dismiss if you didn’t share his opinion. Donald Justice was responsible for setting on the road to success, countless students, both in music and in academia. He was a highly respected Organist and Choir director in the Niagara area and those who knew him, and worked under his tutelage knew that his approach…”my way or the highway” frequently produced impressive results. Donald’s ability to tell a good story, with all of its embellishment s was legendary. It would not be fair to Donald to suggest that he was loved and appreciated by all. Honestly, he would be the first to admit, that in his time, he had created animosity with quite a few people. Sadly, many who would have remained close to him bristled with his singular opinions.
I first met Donald Justice as a young floundering teenager. He quickly identified and encouraged me to develop my musical and academic talents. Before he would consider piano and singing lessons for me, he insisted that I needed to get my school “house in order,” and proceeded to tutor me on a weekly basis. The rest is history. We developed a long friendship and with Don’s guidance and financial assistance, I went on to higher education and later to complete a Master’s Degree in Music at his alma mater, the Eastman School of Music. Without Don’s confidence and guidance of me spanning many years, I would never have achieved this success. But, my story is only one of thousands, and this man, this tiny, towering larger than life influence, has left an indelible mark on so many in the Province of Ontario and abroad.
Dear Donald…rest in peace thy faithful and loving servant. You have run the race, and kept the faith! Be at eternal peace my dear lifelong friend and confidant. May your musical and educational legacy continue well in to the future! I can hear you playing “When it comes to the end of a perfect Day” in heaven!
