Life Story for Raffaele Marinelli

Raffaele Marinelli
MARINELLI, Raffaele (Ralph) On October 1, 2018, comfortably and peacefully, surrounded by loving family, Ralph passed away at the wonderful age of 93 1/2. Predeceased by his wife Antonietta (2002). He is survived by Gilda Marinelli, Flora Miller (Doug), Ginetta Marinelli (Fernando Spigarelli); five grandchildren Cameron Weadick (Bonnie Fraser), Colin Weadick (Stephanie Kerr), Adam Marinelli (Lindsey Lenters), Serra Marinelli (Luke Cuzen), Nicholas Marinelli; and one great-granddaughter Margaret Fraser-Weadick; and sister Maria Mancini in Ottawa, sisters-in-law Lucia D'Amario in Fonthill and Ilda Surci in Mendoza, Argentina and many nieces and nephews scattered throughout the world; former father-in-law of Michael Weadick and Michael Liscombe. Ralph was a loving father, Nonno, and Bisnonno who loved his family dearly and passed on his strong work ethic to them. He was a social fellow who enjoyed his garden, winemaking, playing cards/bocce at the Italian Club, watching hockey and above all searching for dead trees so that he could cut them down with his beloved Stihl chainsaw and then hand split it for his wood stove. Despite his failing health, he remained fiercely and stubbornly independent until his recent move to Queenston Place Retirement Home. The family expresses much gratitude to all the staff at Queenston Place, Dr. Faraz Masood and staff, and all the staff at Niagara Centre Pharmacy.
A private graveside service was held on October 3, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations to Princess Margaret Hospital (Toronto) or SPCA in your area would be greatly appreciated. Have a glass of red wine or sweet vermouth and share a memory of Ralph. Riposa in pace, Pa Dai un bacio alla mamma per noi.
