Life Story for Claude Joseph Melanson

Claude Joseph  Melanson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Claude Melanson.
Born January 27, 1967 in Antigonish,NS, Claude died August 8, 2018 in Niagara Falls, ON at the age of 51 years old.
Survived by parents Joseph and Marie (DeYoung) Melanson, Pomquet,NS; brother Kenneth and Lori (MacDonald), Truro, NS; sister Michelle Melanson; Niagara Falls, ON; nephews Luke and Matthew, Truro.
Claude graduated from Antigonish Regional High School, went on to study graphic design and art. He worked as a graphic designer for several years with Central Supplies Limited, and The Guysborough Journal in Antigonish, before moving to Fort McMurray, AB in 1998. He would work for Keyano College, and Printing Unlimited during his 19 years in Alberta.
He was a passionate hockey fan, loved his Edmonton Oilers, and most of all Wayne Gretzky. He was a Star Wars fan, an avid reader, loved listening to and sharing his favourite music, loved all animals, but was especially fond of golden Labrador retrievers. He was kind, generous and easy going. He was a very good artist and photographer. He was also an excellent cook, and enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. He came home to Nova Scotia as often as possible, enjoying his visits with friends, siblings, nephews and most especially his mom and dad.
As per his wishes there will be no service. Donations can be made to a charity of choice.
