Life Story for Harriet May Chatting

Harriet May Chatting
CHATTING, Harriet May - In loving memory of our beautiful mum and Gran, Harriet May Chatting (nee Doidge). Harriet, age 85, left us peacefully on Friday evening April 12, 2019, in the arms of her loving daughter. Harriet was born in 1934 in Cornwall, England, one of six daughters to the late Hilda Doidge, immigrating to Canada in 1965 where she raised her three children.
Predeceased by her son Grant, and sisters Nora (Douglas), Margaret (Ben), and Alice (Graham). Harriet will be dearly missed by her daughters Janice and Louise, son-in-law Stewart, grandchildren Amy (Daryl) and Russell, and great granddaughter Victoria. In England, Harriet leaves her beloved sisters Agnes (Jack) and Marina (Paul), nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends to honour her memory.
Being connected to family was very important to Harriet, who spoke to her daughters and sisters overseas nearly everyday, and lovingly doted on her great granddaughter. She surrounded herself with things that brought her joy, including family photos, ornaments and keepsakes. Harriet appreciated everything she had, and freeheartedly shared with those around her. She will always be remembered for her generosity, strong work ethic, and independence.
A special thanks goes out to our friends, neighbours and coworkers who have loved and supported us in this time of sorrow and throughout the years. We couldn’t ask for better people in our lives. The family also wishes to extend our gratitude to those first responders and special nurses that came to her aid and comforted her in her final hours.
A celebration of life is planned for mid May in keeping with Harriet’s wishes. Information for the celebration will be sent to family and friends at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com
