HANEY (THORBURN) Joan - after struggling with Parkinson’s for many years, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at the age of 85 with her family by her side. Loving wife of John (Jack) Haney and amazing mother of Stuart Thorburn (Elinore), Ian Thorburn (Antonet) and Blair Thorburn (Sergio). Step mother to John Haney (Renee); Terry Haney and Janice Nash (Chris). Mother-in-law of Peter Padula. Predeceased by her daughter Julie-Ann Padula. She leaves behind many grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Joan was born and raised in London, England but made Canada her home. Joan had her faith, family and friends. She was small in stature, but larger than life.
Joan’s family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street Niagara Falls, Wednesday February 6, 2-4pm and Memorial Service at Church of the Good Shepherd/Grace Mennonite Building, 677 Niagara Street St. Catharines, Thursday February 7, with visitation at 11:00 am and a service at 12:00 noon with a reception afterwards. A private interment will follow the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to (Palliative Care) Millennium Trail Manor, where Joan received loving care or Parkinson Canada would be appreciated.
