Condolences

Condolence From: Sherry Barrett
Condolence: Such fond memories of Mr Miller, or Johnny Miller, as my dad referred of him. I used to dread, those 65lb bales of hay, that Johnny would leave, to be hand bombed into the haymow. The best part, was riding up to Maple Leaf, or Robin Hood, with a load of Johnnys wheat. Back in the good days, we used to help each other out on the farm. Every spring, a few cases of Johnnys maple syrup would arrive. I still have a Millers milk can, which I proudly display. Driving down Kalar, and The Lane, breaks my heart, while flooding it with wonderful, childhood memories. The Barrett, Badger, and Miller farms, maybe gone. The memories will last forever. R.I.P. Mr Miller.

Condolence From: Charles Badger (aka..Harry)
Condolence: Recalling the fondest of memories growing up across the road from John's dairy farm from the earliest days as a young boy marching across the hwy to get fresh dairy milk each evening at milking time ..to the working years pitching hay, shovelling grain and endless hours of tractor work in the fields... to the latter years when I would return to Niagara on weekends & head over to get one more Saturday 'out in the field'!! And even more enjoyment at the Sugar bush making maple syrup ..or cutting firewood.
John's stories and grand smile will be missed.
Sincerest condolences from Golden, BC .. Chuck Badger

Condolence From: Edith Bacon
Condolence: We'll not forget the great pleasure John derived from two things in his nineties. One was to continue producing from his land, quality food both for himself and to share with whomever. The soup kitchen benefited from his heartfelt gift of vegetables.
The other distinct pleasure was checking out the crokinole board swiftly, clearing the path and dropping in a bull's eye amid protests from other players! He would beam! He had the ability to both work and play heartily.
