Life Story for Patricia Carole Oatley (Fare)

Patricia Carole Oatley (Fare)
Patricia Carole Oatley (nee Fare). Patricia passed away at her home in Niagara Falls on Tuesday February 12th, 2019 in her 77th year. Pat is survived by her husband of 57 years Eugene, her children Catherine (Brian) Barker, Jennifer (Darrin) Beatty and Jason (Susan) Oatley. Patricia was the beloved grandmother of Michael Rivers, Carolyn, Sarah, Laura and Jackson Oatley, and Benjamin and Donovan Beatty. She was the sister of Robert Fare, Sandra (Ken) Wilson, and Deborah Foxwell. She was predeceased by her parents Joan and Earl Fare of St. Catharines. Pat grew up in Niagara-on-the-Lake and loved spending time with her grandparents. Later, she moved to St. Catharines, graduating from Merritton High School. After graduation she worked at Mackinnon Industries and she often told stories of how she was the only person who could run the Address-o-Graph at GM. She married Eugene Oatley and the young couple moved into a tiny 2 bedroom cottage in Niagara-on-the-Lake. As her family grew, they moved to Chippawa and later Niagara Falls. Pat loved to laugh and tell funny stories about her adventures, how she ate tar, went to the moon and many other tall tales. She had a keen interest in genealogy and taught herself how to use the internet to research the family tree. She was the favourite “Gramma” of many grand-dogs. She devoted her life to her family and many will remember the huge Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners that she put on until very recently. All were welcome at the table.
The family will receive friends and family at Morse and Son Funeral Home, in Niagara Falls on Thursday February 14th between 6 and 9PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday February 15, 2PM with interment at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Niagara Falls Humane Society.
