BIRD, Verna Kathleen - Passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Chartwell Niagara Long Term Care Residence. Beloved wife of the late Harold Francis Bird (Nov. 2010). Dear mother of Raymond Larmond (Gayle) and Bonnie Bodnar. Loving grandmother of Raymond Jr. Larmond and Karen Larmond and great grandmother of Kiva. Verna retired from the Greater Niagara General Hospital after twenty-five years as a switchboard operator and front desk clerk. Verna was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 396 and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch No. 51 for over thirty years. Verna was also a member of the Canadian Corps Unit 104 and the Monday night ladies Cribbage League where she always enjoyed a game of cards.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 9-11 a.m., with the service to follow. Burial Fairview Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Hospice Niagara or to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 396, Chippawa.
