thankful

My friendship with Dorothy began in 1979 when I learned to weave at the Petersons workshop in Chippewa.

Being with this lively group was always an uplifting experience.  Dorothy always had interesting  and

poignant stories about Quebec and her early life.

She was driving a car load home from Master spinners class when we were stopped at the  canal

bridge for a boat.

A police car was behind us and Dorothy mistakenly thought he was following her for a reason. SO

she got out of the car to ask him what he wanted.  We in the car were beside our selves. Laughed all the

way home.   On occasion she would be the chauffer to the Buffalo weavers guild meetings. We would sit in

anticipation as we neared the customs inspector wondering what sort of questions or answers she would

come up with.  Always a good time with Dorothy.  She and Harry enjoyed travelling around and one day

when they ended up at my home in Port Ryerse, I was surprised and very happy to see them. She was a

good friend to all and wanted to be ceratin that everyone was taken care of.  A loving and giving friend.

An avid weaver and spinner and giver of friendship.

Life wasn't always easy for her, especially the tragic death of Michael  and Harry's passing.

She is and always will remain a bright light in my life. I am thankful for the opportunity of knowing her.
