Life Story for Maria Banfai (Kontra)

Maria Banfai (Kontra)
BANFAI, Maria - It is with great sorrow that we have lost our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother in her 90th year. She passed away very peacefully on March 27, 2017, surrounded by family.
Loving wife of the late Geza Sr. (2007), loving mother of Geza (Catherine), Julius (Dale) and John (Kim). Cherished gramma of Alexander (Julie), Thomas, Jennifer and Alexis and proud great-grandmother of Olivia and Charlotte.
Maria came to Canada from Hungary as a young woman, met her future husband and built a successful life through hard work, sound judgment and integrity. She was devoted to her husband, her family, her friends and her church community. She loved life, was kind, generous, always optimistic and content.
The family will receive friends at the Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls on Friday March 31, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will take place at 8:30 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 5740 Buchanan Avenue, Niagara Falls, and Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John’s Greek Catholic Church (Welland) or to Our Lady of Hungary Church (Welland) would be appreciated.
The family expresses its tremendous appreciation and thanks to Bob & Martha, Lorrie, Dyanne, Beverly, Darlene, Kim and all of the staff at CCAC, Paramed and Care Partners.
