Condolence From: Chris Maxfield
Condolence: I was shocked to hear about Dave's passing. I wish to send my most sincere condolences to all members of his family. Although I've been out in Winnipeg for the last 20-odd years I did get a chance to spend some time with Dave out at Bush Lake Camp north of Thunder Bay when he made the trip with my dad Max and a whole crew of guys. It was really good to see him again and we reminisced about the old days with Lloyd and Glenn Peterson, Dave Lennox, Rick Larman...the whole gang. I remember Dave won the lottery when it first came out and he bought a nice older car. I think he bought it for us guys as much as he may have for himself. He was a great guy and a good friend.
Take care, Dave, old buddy.

Condolence: Dear Geri, Josh and Adam;

I'm so sorry for your loss. We all grieve with you - Smurf was a sweet man and his kindness and fellowship will be sincerely missed. He took special pains to made me feel welcome and included when I first joined the Firehall, and he always took the time for a joke, a tease or a quick hi! in passing. I will truly miss him and still can't quite believe that he is gone. How much harder it must be for you who loved him and whom he loved. Our hearts go out to you and our thoughts are with you.

Josh and Adam, that your Dad loved you and was very proud of you was evident to everyone. He always had an extra sparkle in his eye when you were with him and he watched your exploits with a big "that's my boy" grin. Your Dad will continue to watch over you even though he has passed on to a different place -- and he will still have that proud smile as you grow into fine young men. Look after each other and take care of your Mom. Remember that you are surrounded by family and friends who love you.
