My wife and I only knew Patrick for the last two and a half years of his life. I had just begun to appreciate Pat as a dear friend; who would do anything for anyone... I enjoyed many morning walks with him in the summer of 2003 and we talked about the joy of living next to the orchards and vineyards of Niagara-on-the-Lake. We joked as we shared the cutting of our mutual bit of grass on Colonel Cohoe Street; as I often held the cord of the electric mower while he did the pushing and pulling. His energy always amazed me, and I envied his lust for life. He will be sorely missed by Jan and I for his humour and love of family Our love goes out to Marylou, who stood steadfastly by the love of her life in the difficult days of 2004.
